The ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach has introduced a service that assists guests with arranging Covid-19 testing, meeting Hawaii’s entry requirements and handling other logistics of flying during the pandemic.

The resort partnered with Hawaii-based V2 Medical Group to help guests navigate the Safe Travels Hawaii requirements, which mandate a negative result on a Covid-19 test from a state-approved testing provider taken within 72 hours of departure in order to bypass a 10-day quarantine period. Guests will be guided by a V2 concierge who will work with them through the testing process and verify they have the proper documentation prior to departure.

The cost of the V2 Medical Group service is $150, which includes travel and testing guidance, customized testing timeline, assistance navigating the Safe Travels Hawaii website, supervised testing, laboratory testing cost, materials, lab results and shipping of testing materials both ways.

After booking a stay, ‘Alohilani guests are referred to a V2 travel expert who curates a testing and travel plan for arrival to the Aloha State with all the necessary documentation so they will not be required to quarantine upon arrival. V2 selects and orders a test from a Hawaii-authorized “Trusted Travel Partner,” creates an itinerary for test scheduling and shipping, tracks the results, helps direct the completion of the Safe Travels documents and uploads test results for processing of screening upon arrival. To confirm self-administered tests are conducted correctly, the guest will also connect virtually with a test supervisor while taking the test.

“We strive to be at the forefront of safe tourism and are excited to be the first Hawaii resort to offer a hassle-free way for our guests to travel to Hawaii with the expertise of V2 Medical Group,” Kelly Sanders, senior vice president of operations for Highgate, ‘Alohilani’s parent company, said in a statement. “Now guests can rest assured their test result will be available upon departure to Hawaii, and with a negative result they can spend their time enjoying our beautiful island and all the unique experiences at ‘Alohilani.”

The majority of tests used by V2 will be self-administered, saliva-based test kits, according to the statement. A prepaid shipping label is included within the package for an expedited delivery to an approved lab, and results are sent via email or uploaded to a testing account upon the guest’s discretion.

The ‘Alohilani has also set up an on-site testing center with V2 Medical Group to answer questions and also provide additional Covid-19 testing if the guest desires
