WAIKIKI – Executive Chef at the ‘Alohilani Resort, David Lukela let Tesia try the new ‘Think Pink’ menu for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Throughout October, ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach is lighting up in pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month and doing a series of fundraising initiatives for Susan G. Komen Hawaii, which provides funding for breast health services, breast cancer education and outreach in the Hawaii region. The exterior of the property glows at night in the symbolic pink color to show support of this important cause.
To encourage guests and the local community to join the effort, ‘Alohilani has created a special “Think Pink” menu of which 10% of proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Hawaii. The “Think Pink” menu pops up at Swell with a watermelon, arugula, feta and pistachio salad ($15) at the seascape infinity pool deck, and O Bar, surrounded by the Oceanarium, is a refreshing watermelon, cucumber mint juice ($9) by day and delectable pink macaroons ($15) by night. Both restaurants are mixing up a limited time “Pink Passion” tropical rum, passionfruit, and guava cocktail ($14).
‘Alohilani Resort is also a proud sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday, October 14th, and will be participating with a race team.
