‘Alohilani Resort Celebrates One-Year Anniversary with One-of-a-Kind Experiences

MAY 6, 2019 | TravelPulse.com

WHY IT RATES: The award-winning resort is going all out and giving back to celebrate its latest milestone.—Patrick Clarke, TravelPulse Senior Writer.

Renowned for delivering elevated experiences, ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach celebrates their one-year anniversary with an island renaissance like no other. The property is helping change the landscape of Oahu through one-of-a-kind experiences including a grand “Greetings from Hawaii” mural to be viewable from satellite, an exclusive rooftop infinity pool deck, dynamic programming and much more.

Initiatives that have coined the resort winner of The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award, USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award for Best New Hotel, and HAWAI’I Magazine’s 7th annual Readers’ Choice Award for the #1 New Hotel.

Bringing a fresh perspective to Waikiki hospitality, the resort’s reforestation initiative is sprouting new forests on Oahu and the Big Island with thousands of trees planted through their partnership with Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI), a non-profit organization committed to returning indigenous trees back to Hawaii. Visitors from around the world have taken part in ‘Alohilani’s pledge to plant 100,000 trees to help revive the island’s ecosystem.

“With ‘Alohilani we set out to create something the island hasn’t seen…to rekindle the excitement of Waikiki, for guests and locals.” says Vann Avedisian, Principal of Highgate Holdings. “We have fashioned an iconic modern Hawaiian space where one can experience the culture and destination as never before, with exhilarating programming, unparalleled amenities and a constant eye on giving back to the community and the land that has given us so much.”

Innovation is at the core of ‘Alohilani. Over the past year, travelers have taken part in imaginative offerings like the spiritually grounding “Plant Your Intentions” package, which includes an astrological reading and dream board manifestation workshop. Recently launched is “Thrillist,” a daring Oahu itinerary filled with exploration by land, sea and air curated with the adventure traveler in mind.

Building upon the artistically vibrant property, ‘Alohilani Resort commissioned Hawaii’s first “Greetings Tour” postcard mural in February by Victor Ving and Lisa Beggs who are on a quest to paint city landmarks across all 50 states. The larger than life, 3,750 square-foot “Greetings From Hawaii” ground installation is the duo’s most unique project to date, both in size and surface. Gaining recognition from around the globe, the retro-style postcard can be captured from Swell Pool & Bar, ‘Alohilani’s seascape pool deck, both guest towers and soon, Google Earth.

The property has become known as a culinary attraction with two next-level dining experiences by the globally acclaimed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The ‘Ilima ‘People’s Choice Best New Restaurant’ Morimoto Asia is a must-visit destination on the island and the beachside ramen bar, Momosan, has become a casual favorite. In April, the resort’s treasured brunch spot Lychee unveiled a new a-la-carte menu and locally crafted Kai Coffee opened within the Shops at ‘Alohilani, which will provide in-store roasting demonstrations and education.

Exclusives are a cornerstone of the resort including a two-story, 280,000-gallon Oceanarium and amenities like rooftop tennis courts and batting cages. Starting June 1, an exotic car line from Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be available with models such as Tesla S, Maserati Ghibli, Range Rover Evoque Convertible, and more. Furthermore, Longboard Club, a new indoor/outdoor guest-only venue, will be unveiled in the summer with personalized service to relax and enjoy an international and locally infused dining program.
