Getting married in Hawaii? Here are some answers to help you start planning your special day
There are many things to consider when planning your wedding, from choosing wedding venues in Hawaii to details of the ceremony and reception. Below are responses to the most commonly asked questions.
How do I plan a Hawaiian wedding ceremony?
Whether you’re looking for a small, intimate wedding, or a larger celebration, we can help. Contact our team of dedicated professionals to begin planning your day. They’ll help you with every detail, from our selection of Honolulu wedding venues and catering to flowers and music.
How much time do I need to plan a destination wedding?
The time needed to plan your wedding depends, in part, on the number of guests you expect. If you’re having a small, intimate wedding, venues and catering are easier to secure. For large weddings, we recommend that you begin planning at least nine months in advance. That timing will allow us to secure your choice of venue, plan the menu, coordinate your officiant, flowers, photography and the other details that make your wedding the day of your dreams.
Does Alohilani offer wedding packages?
Yes, we offer a range of wedding packages that anticipate the needs of your special day. From an intimate ceremony to a gala wedding, we can help you plan your dream celebration.
When is the best time to get married in Hawaii?
With our year-round, warm, tropical weather and direct flight access from many parts of the U.S., Canada and beyond, we host Honolulu weddings throughout the year. You may wish to consider having your celebration when you and your guests can also enjoy the most time off to vacation on Oahu. Alternatively, your wedding may be scheduled when you’re looking for a much-needed break from winter. The choice is yours.
How many guests are typical for a destination wedding?
As your destination wedding requires travel, your number of guests may be smaller. Typically, fewer people can plan for a trip to Hawaii, which means your wedding may be an opportunity for a more personal, intimate celebration.
How can I make my menu memorable?
When you’re planning your menu, consider including items that are unique to our location. We can help you customize your menu with local specialties. Let our Chef and Catering professionals add a taste of Hawaii to your celebration.
How can I make my wedding reflect the destination?
To bring the best of the Islands to your wedding, be sure to choose local elements. Consider your selection of flowers. Incorporating leis into your ceremony weaves a Hawaiian tradition into your wedding. Music is another way to make your day distinctive. Our team of professionals can help you with the details that will personalize your wedding, incorporating a true sense of place.
How do I get a marriage license in Hawaii?
Marriage in Hawaii requires a license. To apply, the couple must appear together before a marriage license agent. In Honolulu, that means going to the Health Department Building. You must present your valid identification, along with a completed application, which can applied for online. Your license is valid immediately for a period of 30 days. You can receive it one day and be married the next.
