January Round Up of Hot Hotel Openings

Many hotel companies are optimistic about the new year and planning several high-profile property openings. But 2017 was also a busy year in terms of building new hotels. Here are a few openings that closed out the year for the industry.

ʻAlohilani Resort Waikiki Beach on Oahu

ʻAlohilani Resort Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu Hawaii is located just steps from the beach.

The resort was once the Pacific Beach Hotel. It opened in its new form after a $115 million redevelopment of the property.

It has 839 guestrooms and suites, many with balconies and ocean views.

A 280,000-gallon oceanarium in the lobby is filled with marine life. A pool deck on the fifth-floor overlooks Waikiki Beach. The saltwater infinity pool has a Swell Bar and is surrounded by five cabanas, tiered day beds and fire pits. There’s a separate family pool as well as tennis courts and a spa.

The five restaurants include two restaurants by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto
